Armor Angler
Armor Angler
- Listen to the requests of unique clients with handwritten dialogue, each wanting a different kind of armor
- Construct a modular scale armor using 12 different unique types of scales and scrap items
- Buy fishing bait in the bait bag shop and play a fishing mini game to collect even more types of scales for your next bunch of customers
You take the role of an angler who manufacturers custom-made scale armor to sell in your shop. Listen to what kind of armor your clients want and use the 12 different scales and other items to construct the armor of their dreams. Use your profits to buy more fish bait and go fishing to collect more scales to use for crafting.
What we would like to expand the game on:
- More characters and interactions! We simply didn't have the time to develop more characters or add more dialogue to the existing ones. But discovering all their personalities are so fun!
- More ways to interact with the characters: certain characters could trigger unique interactions like giving an item to the player to keep safe for another character later or unique fishing bait types that can only be obtained by fulfilling your clients wishes.
- More types of fishing mini games: due to the scope of the game jam, only one fishing mini game could be developed. Originally, we had some more planned for different types of fish.
- Balance the economy a little more: as the game stands, there has been almost no plate testing regarding the long-term economy and scale distribution, since the full game loop only started working on the final day of the jam. For it essentially being guesswork, it works quite well!
- Add music: we are both no musicians, so adding music was trust a small part of our considerations when planning the game. We obviously know that music and sound effects enhance a game by a lot, but we simply ran out of time looking for fitting pieces.

Great art Style and love the character especially the random rubber duck
Thank you, and also thank you for playing through almost the entire game (the duck is one of the last original characters in the game)!
We're really happy that you had a great time playing it.
Cool art style, I love the characters and the fish. I also think it's great that it's not the classic fishing found in video games like Minecraft or Animal Crossing, but something new.
Thank you! Ma teammate is really happy about how everyone praises his art, he really put a lot of work into it.
I wanted to make the fishing minigame something new, something that isn't copied from other games, and I think I succeeded? Although it seems to be way to hard in it's first iteration, which is why we made it a somewhat simpler in an updated version.
Again, thank you for taking your time and playing the game!
